SCHOOLCHILDREN TO DISTRIBUTE LADYBUGS THROUGHOUT VISTANCIA

With the help of Vistancia Elementary students, hundreds of thousands of aphid-eating ladybugs will be released at Vistancia on April 19.

Starting at 10 a.m., the event will take place at the Vistancia master plan located northwest of Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Road in north Peoria.

Visuals will include:
* Schoolchildren learning that a single ladybug can eat more than 50 aphids a day and 5,000 in a lifetime. They will learn what a great impact this has on Earth just in time for Earth Day.
* A giant "lady" bug talking to the students about fun ladybug lore passed down for generations.
* The children having fun with the bugs, as they crawl all over their hands and arms, after receiving handfuls of the tiny creatures to distribute on nearby plants and vegetation.

For more information or to attend the event, please call Erin Vredevoogd at 602-222-4343 before the event or at 937-681-1129 on the day of the event.
