MARCH 28 GARAGE SALE AND FLEA MARKET AT VISTANCIA COLLECTS MORE THAN 15,000 POUNDS OF ITEMS FOR GOODWILL
With more than 60 homes participating, Valley bargain hunters found plenty of undiscovered garage sale treasures during Vistancia's recent community-wide garage sale and flea market.
The annual event saw garage sale enthusiasts from all over the west Valley flock to the north Peoria community, located northwest of Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Road.
Armed with detailed maps listing the locations of the participating homes, Valley shoppers went to work, snatching up bargains as they shopped. The bargain hunters found plenty of items to take home and many participating Vistancia families found it in their hearts to donate extra items to a local charity.
More than 15,000 pounds of donated items were collected during the sale by Goodwill of Central Arizona, which was on hand in the Mountain Vista Club parking lot to accept donations of gently used clothing and household items. The donations will help to create revenue for the charity's job skills training and job placement programs.
"We're so grateful that each year our residents are willing to clean out their homes and help make this event a success for everyone involved," said Vistancia Lifestyle Director Monica Hollins.
