VISTANCIA SELLS OUT FIRST RELEASE OF HOMES
PEORIA -- The desert called, and Valley homebuyers answered:The first official release of homes at the new Vistancia community in north Peoria resulted in a complete sell-out. Additional homesite releases within the approximately 1,000-home first phase are ongoing.
Buyers who pre-registered on the Web site or in person were given first priority at the February opening.Since then, the community's builders report that demand for homes remains high.So far, Vistancia's sales have exceeded 350.
The 7,100-acre community is located west of Lake Pleasant Road and north of Happy Valley Road.
"Vistancia has generated tremendous interest from Valley residents who appreciate its combination of open space and upscale amenities," said Curt Smith, chief operations officer for Sunbelt Holdings, which is developing the community in partnership with Shea Homes.
Doug and Shelly King of Peoria were among the first homebuyers. After spending the past four years searching for the perfect home, they finally found it in the community's Escalante neighborhood by Shea Homes. The home itself was a tough choice, though, said Shelly King:They were impressed with the quality and the selection of homes all the builders offered.

"This community has really raised the bar, as far as homes and amenities go," she said."Vistancia had all the things we wanted in a community and then some."
All those things the Kings wanted in a community centered around their four children, ranging in ages from 5 to 14, King said. She said they were "sold" when they took a tour of Vistancia's Mountain Vista Club -- which features three pools (one with two water slides), an indoor basketball gymnasium, a tennis complex with stadium seating, a game lawn and open play areas -- and got a glimpse of all the outdoor experiences their children would be able to enjoy.
"Vistancia invites kids to do fun things outside in the beauty of the Arizona desert," she said."We couldn't find that in any other community."
Vistancia offers access to nearly 1,700 acres of planned open space that will include a proposed 900-acre mountain preserve, two city regional parks and five neighborhood parks.A key outdoor amenity is the 3.3-mile Discovery Trail, a linear park that utilizes themed gardens and trails to link residents to amenities and the natural surroundings.
We've set extremely high standards for this community, Smith said.At Vistancia, we strive to provide a living environment that complements the beauty of the surrounding desert. The breathtaking landscape, organic architecture and natural setting are among our key amenities here.
